About Pair Up
Pair Up is an onet connect free game you play in your browser. A 6x8 grid of colourful tiles is laid out face-up, so no memory is required. Your goal is to find pairs of identical tiles and connect them with a path of at most two right-angle turns through empty space. Matched tiles disappear, opening new routes for the pairs that remain.
How to play Pair Up?
Click or tap any tile to select it. It will glow and scale up. Then click a second tile of the same type. If the two tiles can be joined by a straight line or a path with at most two right-angle turns through empty cells (including one step outside the grid border), they are removed. If no valid path exists, the selection switches to the tile you just tapped.
When no valid moves remain, the board auto-shuffles so you are never truly stuck. There are no hint or shuffle buttons. You rely on your own eyes to spot the pairs.
Clear all 24 pairs before the 180-second timer runs out to win. Your best clear time is saved automatically, so you can try to beat it on the next round.

Tips and strategy
- 1Clear edge tiles first. Tiles on the border always have an escape route because paths can travel one step outside the grid, so matching them early opens up the board.
- 2Think in L-shapes, not just straight lines. Most valid connections bend once or twice, so look for tiles that could connect through an L or Z path, not just direct lines.
- 3Scan the board before you click. Since there is no hint button, train your eye to spot matching pairs by scanning rows left to right before committing to a tile.
- 4Do not panic when the board auto-shuffles. It only happens when no valid moves remain, and it always produces at least one new pair you can match.
